I believe that mental, physical, and emotional health are all directly connected, and massage is a treatment that can benefit all three at once. I am deeply gratified to be trained in a field that enables me to help others achieve greater well being.
Massage allows a break from the normal stressors of life. Time on the table allows the mind to quiet and can activate the theta brain waves, which aid in problem solving. By physically manipulating the muscle fibers, short tight muscle fibers can be lengthened and adhesions released, aiding in pain relief. Both the lymphatic and cardiovascular systems benefit from gliding strokes, which has become increasingly important as more people find themselves sitting for long periods of time due to work requirements or Covid restrictions. Healthy soothing touch allows for the production and release of the body's chemicals that help in providing relaxation and relief from anxiety.
I am fascinated by the human body and the effects of the bodily systems interactions on overall health. Massage doesn't simply address the physiological concerns, but also the mental and emotional aspects of life that can cause a physical reaction. There will always be new techniques to study and learn to provide the best treatment plan for my clients, and always new clients with their own unique needs to be addressed, which allows for an exciting and ever-changing career. Mostly, I enjoy making a positive difference in someone's life through the knowledge of mindful touch and a desire to help.
I enjoy many hobbies and activities, including, but not limited to: aerial arts, camping, cooking, cycling, dancing, dirt biking, gardening, hiking, learning, reading, surfing, traveling, spending time with my children, visiting my family, time with friends, and practicing petrissage on cats.
